The heavily armed North American B-25 Mitchell is among the most storied aircraft of WW II, owing in part to its role in the carrier-based Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in 1942. B-25s flew with the RAF Desert Air Force in North Africa and later over Europe. Canadian crews manned B-25s of the RAF and 164 of the planes served multiple roles with seven RCAF squadrons.
