The Consolidated PBY Canso, known to the Americans simply as the PBY, was a long-range flying boat manufactured in Canada, the Soviet Union and the United States. It provided critical air cover to convoys in the Battle of the Atlantic, serving with 11 RCAF Squadrons in WW II. Stationed in Iceland Scotland, 162 Squadron accounted for all six U-boat sinkings made by RCAF Cansos.
